![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Whenever we roll past San Rafael, we're going to try to hit Sol Food. My wife and I were eating, saying yum a lot, and wishing out loud that this place was closer to home. If any of that had been below great, I'd ding them on the price for sure. Sol Food Petaluma has a huge footprint compared to the San Rafael location. If everything is always as perfect as it was on my visit - great food, speedy delivery, and terrific service, then the price is justified. We found 2 hour limit street parking nearby. Although the location was only 280 square feet with a limited indoor seating. Sol Food, located in San Rafael is consistently voted one of the citys best, and it is easy to see why when you eat the food. By 2004, Sol Food had opened its first location on 4th street. But, you have to admire the management - they have a uniquely great product and they're extracting what they can. Sol Food began in the San Rafael Farmers Market in 2003. If I have a complaint, it is that the food was a bit more expensive that it should have been. The sandwiches looked great, and I'll try them next time. The sweet plantains were perfectly cooked and ripe, the habicuelas (pink beans) and rice was delicious, especially with some of their hot sauce. The Camerones Criollas were our favorite dish, but the chicken was also great. The food came quickly, and was hot and fresh, and, delicious! I've eaten a lot of Puerto Rican home cooking, and this was up there among the best I've had. on Yelp Sol Food staff were over the moon to see the singer who has climbed the charts with his electric reggaeton and. Our cashier helped us choose a great selection of items to share, and even came to check up on us a couple of times while we were eating to make sure we were happy. Sol Food serves Puerto Rican food in San Rafael, Calif. The line moved very quickly, and the staff was super friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Visited on July 4, 2011, and it was hoppin' at 7pm. ![]()
